Interior design of a modern country house

A young couple approached our studio with a very interesting order: they were building a large two-story house in the suburbs of St. Petersburg, made according to an individual project. Since the house is a country house, it was planned to make it in a modern style, and emphasize the closeness of man to nature. Therefore, they did not use bright accents, but did everything in light colors, natural shades, using natural materials such as stone, wood, fabrics.

On the first floor there are general rooms and bedrooms, while the second floor is a single attic space of almost 100 m2. Customers are very impressed with the minimalism style - a minimum of items and a maximum of free space, clear lines and regular geometric shapes. Color preferences are chocolate, beige, gray and white. The customer really wanted to see a white brick wall in any of the rooms. All these wishes were fully taken into account in our project. Redevelopment in this case was not required, only small changes in the size and position of the window openings.

The first thing we get to when entering the house is the entrance hall. Here we have placed a wardrobe for seasonal clothes, a console for keys, gloves, and other small items and accessories. Behind the bench, I placed a floor-to-ceiling mirror - this makes it possible to see yourself in full growth before going out. On the floor there is marble-like porcelain stoneware, the walls are painted with decorative chocolate-colored plaster, which imitates a soft silk surface.

All rooms on the first floor are connected by a gallery-type corridor. Here, against the background of walls of a warm milky color, there are repeating elements - doors made of dark ash. Thus, a beautiful contrast effect is obtained. To illuminate the corridor, dual LED lamps were used, which are located in a dark niche. The floor is made of champagne laminate, the same color as in the living-dining room, which made it possible to visually unite these spaces.

The center of the house is a large two-story room with an area of 50 sq. with a fireplace, which houses the living room, dining room and kitchen area. A gable roof serves as a ceiling. The ridge height reaches 5 meters. A curtain lighting is installed along the perimeter of the ceiling: it creates the effect of a "floating ceiling", along the edges of which curtains of dark chocolate shade descend.

There are windows on all sides of this room, through which a lot of light enters it. On the south side, the window starts from the floor and is combined with a sliding door through which the owners will enter the summer terrace and garden. One part of the walls is painted in the color of baked milk, and the other - with decorative plaster in a light brown shade to preserve the air space without burdening with bright colors.

The center of the interior of this spacious space is the dining room, which links the kitchen area with the living area. There is a dining table for 6, surrounded by black leather chairs with chrome legs. According to the owners, the kitchen island will be enough for them for everyday meals, while the table will be used for receiving guests. The rest of the time it will play the role of a compositional element, on which you can put a vase of flowers, put a magazine or tablet.

One of the leading parts of the composition is the kitchen area, it consists of 3 parts - a single-row kitchen front, a pencil area and a kitchen island. This technique is often used when designing kitchens in large rooms. It is practical, beautiful and modern. The countertop of the kitchen front is made of quartz agglomerate like a stone - a durable, wear-resistant, practical and very beautiful material, resistant to thermal influences, and besides, there are no scratches on it. The fronts of the kitchen set are made of white gloss, the apron is made of tempered glass, and above the hob is a cylindrical hood. The hood of the hood goes directly to the street, so the question "how beautifully to hide the corrugation from the hood?" not worth it here. The drawer area includes a refrigerator, oven, microwave oven and storage cabinets.

The kitchen island - a free-standing element of the kitchen - in our project consists of two parts: drawers with a glossy white work surface and a wooden countertop, behind which you can sit down for a cup of coffee or have a quick breakfast.

The living area is a European interior mise-en-scène: two light sofas are located perpendicular to each other, in the center is a large coffee table with a dark ash texture. Behind one of the sofas are decorative wooden shelves that run from floor to ceiling and emphasize the height of the room. On the opposite side there is a wall of white decorative bricks; it has a long, tea-rose-colored cabinet and a plasma TV. We decorated the floors under the curbstone with sea pebbles.

The main lighting of the room is carried out by spotlights: twin LEDs are located in symmetrical niches, between them there are lamps recessed into the ceiling. Additionally, four points illuminate the kitchen front, over the kitchen island - hanging downward pendant designer lamps made of black gloss, along the perimeter - cornice lighting. You can also turn on a floor lamp. Thus, several lighting scenarios appear, which allows you to create a different mood of the interior.

In order to unite all the zones into one whole, we have laid the "champagne" laminate everywhere. At the same time, the floor of the kitchen front is highlighted and made of marbled porcelain stoneware. The kitchen is an area of increased pollution and porcelain stoneware will be more practical here. Visually, this selection also looks beneficial.

The bedroom is done in light beige colors. The walls are painted with decorative silk-like plaster, the floor is covered with light brown laminate. The design of the bed is integrated with the bedside tables and is designed to be customized. Stylish lamps are suspended above each of the pedestals. In the artificially created niche behind the headboard there are soft panels upholstered with light brown textiles. Opposite the bed is a wall cabinet and a TV, as well as a dressing table, behind it is a mirror from floor to canvas. The combination of pedestals and mirrors creates a beautiful geometric composition in a minimalist style that meets the wishes of the customers. LED lighting in the bedroom, along the perimeter of the ceiling - backlighting. The windows have chocolate-colored curtains.
The bathroom is decorated with porcelain stoneware in warm colors with a pronounced texture. The installation and pipes are covered with plasterboard, thanks to which a niche has appeared, which can later be decorated at the discretion of the owners of the house. Opposite the toilet there is a cabinet with a sink, behind it is a ceiling-to-ceiling mirror with LED lighting. The faucet is built into the wall.
The bathroom is designed in the "Spa" style. The bathroom is a fairly spacious room. When designing, it was proposed to install a bathtub and a shower cabin. At the entrance there is a cabinet with a sink and a ceiling-length mirror with LED lighting, which is switched on separately from the general lighting. Under the sink there is a shelf under a tree, according to the general concept of the room.
The centerpiece is the freestanding bathtub, which is angled, which gives the room a special originality. The pipes for hot and cold water, as well as the installation for the toilet, are hidden from view, they are protected with drywall, except for those that we would like to show. A wall cabinet for towels with a pronounced wood texture is built into this structure to emphasize the naturalness of finishing materials, unity with nature is an integral part of the spa area, and on the opposite wall there are shelves for cosmetics made of the same wood. The shower stall does not have a podium, since all glass partitions fixtures will be hidden in the floor at the rough stage of the work, which will allow us to avoid unnecessary sills. The walls of the room are painted with moisture-resistant paint, and the floor and walls in the shower room and behind the bathroom are finished with porcelain stoneware "Manchester".
